Chocolate Sandwiches

Chocolate Sandwiches (Makes 4 sandwiches)

1 egg

½ cup milk

8 slices thick cut white bread

4 Hershey’s bars

Butter (to grease pan)

Powdered Sugar (just enough to dust on top)

Place a griddle or skillet on the stove. Once it begins to warm up, coat it with butter. While the griddle heats, crack the egg into a shallow dish (make sure it is wide enough to fit a piece of bread lying flat). Whisk the egg until no blobs of white are present, then whisk in the milk. It will be slightly milkier than most French toast mixtures- that is okay. Unwrap the chocolate bars, break them in half, and set them nearby. Once the griddle is hot, dip one side of a piece of bread into the egg/milk mixture and place it coated side down in the pan. Top it with two half pieces of chocolate bar (totaling one bar per sandwich) and quickly add another piece of bread that’s been coated in the egg/milk mixture on one side-the plain side of the bread should face the chocolate. Repeat with the rest of the ingredients. Flip once the bread is brown and let brown on the opposite side. Watch carefully because the chocolate will begin to ooze out the edges of the sandwiches. Once both sides are browned and the chocolate is melted, remove them from the griddle. Dust lightly with powdered sugar before serving. Cut in half and enjoy.
